Sweethearts Bridal & Formalwear is family-owned and run. My husband, Michael, and I have 4 children, aged 19, 10, 8, and 6.
After working in the legal field for years, I decided to stay home so we could become foster parents and so that I could take care of my mother, who now has advanced Alzheimer’s.
Now our 3 youngest children are adopted and are happy to be at the shop with me. Unfortunately, my mother no longer is able to come to the shop, and we have had to place her in an Alzheimer’s care facility, but she is content and the staff at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown is taking great care of her!
I have always sought out employment where I could work directly with people and where I can make a difference in their lives. Being able to work with brides and their families brings me great joy and satisfaction. I love it when brides share their desires and hopes for the future with the new love of their life. I love it when their moms thank me for helping their daughter find the perfect dress, and I love being a part of their special day.
Although it’s very difficult to compete with the big chain stores, such as David’s Bridal, we firmly believe that we provide something David’s will never be able to.
